Description

I used a normal diposable camera to catch light, then moved the camera in quick jolts to create the "Fire" and "Water".

not sure if this is manipulation...

more to the point you did well with a disposable camera, I would of thought the exposure would have been brief. your arms must be sore from shaking the camera lol

5+

Avatar Inabottle

 02/20/05 @169

interesting effect, bee amzed what you can achieve, but I think you should crop this... its horrible... so prolly just scan it again and crop it better or work it in photoshop or whatever app you ahve... good though great job

 02/21/05 @797

the fire part looks like a lion :)

Avatar CityRose

 02/22/05 @390

It's a really interesting effect, but at the moment, it hadn't got an artistic purpose. Crop can help with that, as the others have mentioned already. What you choose to be the focus and how the effects look will help.

You've discovered an awesome effect. Now play with it. Take a photo of something with the effect in it.......could be interesting. ^_^

Keep it up Beckett!

Everyone is saying crop crop crop but they aren't telling you how. To be honest with you I really can't see how you should either. Perhaps a 'widescreen' movie type crop with a black border...i dunno.

What this piece needs is to have some elements in focus. Now I realized that things were in motion, but with every element having the same intensity in light and focus (or lack of crispness) the image tends to come across as sort of flat.

I believe this has great potential, perhaps if done again with a better quality camera would rectify some issues. You should definitely repeat this process as I think it would make an interesting series. Play around with the levels or contrast in photoshop as that might add some interesting effects as well.

As far as catagory is concerned, there is a Photography-Abstract catagory ;)

Hi there, Bryan!

I like the way the blue light looks like a skull sometimes. Also, I can see a man on its battle-suit and another skull on the yellow part. Nevermind, I'm crazy. Well, some things here: When u use a normal camera, the quality of the image seems a bit poor, when we scan it. So, I recommend you to learn how to use Adobe Photoshop if you still don't, so you can make some adjustments like this: to increase the contrast and the quality of the picture.

Still, it's a great idea, and a great theme to be explored. Well done! [thumbup]

*P.S. --> If you don't know how to use Photoshop, PM me, okie?

Avatar Nyrak

 02/23/05 @819

I agree with the previous commenters. For me, I'd crop a bit off the bottom black, since the black negative space doesn't work as well there as it does at the top with the descending motion of the blue light. I'd also like to see a series of images like this. But great start!

 10/23/05 @056

Really nice. Lol, I see you got a nice convo going with this artwork or yours ^^ In fact, it IS really interesting. makes one wonder where it came from, how you managed to make such an image. As for the cropping....I feel as if your image isn't in the center...(the border on the left is much wider than the one on the right). And it would be much nicer if it were "crispier" Nevertheless, very impressive since it was done with a disposable camera. Maybe try it out the same thing with a better cam? (I think someone already mentionned that above).

Again, Good job. Can't wait to see something new. ^^
